Our Story

Our story begins in Uganda, where artist Timothy Lwakatende draws inspiration from the rhythm, colour, and raw emotion of everyday life. His abstract paintings are shaped by the movement of people, the textures of the land, and the shifting contrasts of light and shadow that surround him. Each work is expressive, instinctive, and deeply rooted in lived experience.

Beyond the studio, this story extends into the community. Timothy is the founder of AboAba Kids Art, a grassroots project created to share the power of creativity with children who rarely have access to it. Through art, English, and storytelling workshops, children are given a safe, joyful space to explore their imagination and find their voice.

At its heart, this is a story of transformation. Art has been a lifeline — a way to turn hardship into beauty — and today that same process is being passed on to the next generation. Every purchase from this collection directly supports Timothy’s work and helps keep art materials flowing to his classes, ensuring that creativity, not circumstance, shapes these children’s futures
